Primavera update required

WHOOPY DOO.

If this is true that finally someone is going to re open the Boavista Bar it will be great for us locals.

There has been considerable activity but we put this down to the fact that the building has been open to the ellements for months and that a major repair and rebuild job was underway ( it had no upstairs windows ).

We will find out for ourselves very soon.

One problem will be the lack of parking spaces and the busy fast road into/out of Lagoa. Residents have got used to parking ouside and it may cause a few problems.

As Roy lives nearby he will know exactly what is happening.

I dread to think what the parking will be like.. But agree, looking forward to someone finally using this space again!

Lots of work being done, windows and shutters installed in the first floor , various heating and kitchen equipment going in.
Still no signs from the outside of what it is going to be but fingers crossed.

Drove past this afternoon and can confirm it is a hive of building activity

Apparently it is to become a café/restaurant opening spring 2010 (so any time soon it would seem!)

We were in Villa Medici last night and learned that the 'old' Primavera that is being revamped will not open until June now. A combination of the bad weather and building complications has not helped them achieve their planned Easter opening.

Does anyone have any update as to when they will be opening ?

When we were last there there was lots of work going on but little evidence that it would be a bar/cafe/restaurant ?

Spoke to the owner a couple of days ago, Lagoa Camera are holding them up, they hope to open asap. The food will be more Portuguese than their old restaurant (sounds a bit more casual style) and there will be a separate coffee shop.

Sounds good, all we need now is for someone to buy the old nightclub further towards Lagoa and turn this into the best restaurant in the region.
