Post by bigjomc »

hi , just back from cvo and have walked by this place so many times , so this time gave it a try and found the meal (duck) to be excellent as was the service , so much so we went back the second week and i had steak with a cheese sauce which was beautiful , complimented by the cheesy potatoes , i for one will definately be eating here again .

We had a few nice meals, and my Parents go all the time, think because of position people not know it is there, worth a visit and not expensive.

Is this Lanterna Velha (always had good food there) on the hill, or Casa Velha do Pescador at Benagil (good food, but if you're not sitting in the right place you can feel a bit cut off)?

I thought it was the one on the out road by the turn off for the Monte Dourado apartments.

I was there this year and also gave it a try and must say it was wonderful, my daughter had the duck and said it was one of the best meals she had for the two weeks we was there. The service is also very good, I would recommend this restaurant.
