October Dining

Post by TAXMAN »

I shall be returning to Carvoeiro for the first time in five years this October, having previously always been in June/July.
Can you give me any indication as to whether the restaurant scene changes significantly by October compared to summer months ?
For instance are any of my previous faves closed - previous faves include
O Algar (at Benagil) - Brasserie da Marinha - Roma's (I note this has undergone significant changes recently) -
Secondly what would you say were the best new restaurants in or around the town over the last few years - La Bella Vita for instance seems very well reviewed but what do you think ?

Virtually everything is open in October - school half term finishes end of October, so everything will be catering for the visitors until then.

Had we better warn those restaurants that only take cash, that in October the TAXMAN cometh?

Yes, the big difference is that you generally do not have to book a table :D

(unless you're a big party and want a specific restaurant)

Restaurants In Carvoeiro

The good news Taxman is that you will be spoilt for choice. After our recent visit in July i can certainly recommend in no particular order:
Elle and Ellas
Columbos
Casa De Bife
Oasis (Try The Ribs)
Dona Barca Portimao (Freshest Sardines in the World!)
Maximes
Fernandos Stone Steak (Monte Carvoeiro Square) ( He;s a Character)
L'Orange (simply stunning and my personal favourite)

Enjoy.
