[quote="Marco van der Voort"]Dear Beekeeper,
No offense but if you enter a restaurant you can always check out the menu and winelist first...
If you think it's too expensive than don't eat there...
If there is not enough piri piri in your prawns than ask for more...
Kind regards

WELL THATS TRUE BUT THE HOUSE WINE DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE WINE LIST, AND I DID NOT SAY IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE BUT THAT THERE WAS BETTER VALUE ELSEWHERE
IF YOU DONT TRY NEW PLACES THEN YOU CANT COMMENT AFTER IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER THAN IT TURNED OUT TO BE
BEST WISHES

I went last Thursday and was not impressed at all.... and this was it's second chance as well. I had a pizza, onion, onion and more onion! My wife had a pasta dish which was sub standard and my sister-in-law said her prawns were "all head" whatever that means
All in all I would say that it needs to get it's act together on the food side, decor wise spot on!
Just had a chat with me mum about my original post ( i am CM but from my work) and she said that she agreed with me but........ she has had the best steak ever (CVO 4 months a year & out most nights) in Villa Medici so.... Maybe just maybe worth another go just for the steak? After all this guy has spent a bloody fortune getting the place looking spot on so if you are reading this mate get everything else sorted and you might get a third chance at Chrimbo

I have to agree, it is slightly more expensive than other Italian restaurants in the Algarve (or in cvo for sure) However, I think it more than makes up for it by being top quality with excellent service - friendly and efficient. If you went in August and the waiters were not 'on the ball' I think they can be forgiven - it is after all the busiest month of the year and most waiters and waitresses have to work split shifts during the busiest periods to make the most money for the restaurant as possible - you have to be there to serve your customers when they are around! The waiters are probably at their most tired in late August and late December. I visited another Italian restaurant in July and paid about a third of what I paid in Villa Medici but the pizza was just short of bland and the seafood had to be hunted for amongst the over-cooked spaghetti! I say -'Long live quality'
!!!
