Two new (to us) restaurants in Armaçao

Post by roy4eyes »

We like our strolls along the promenade of Armaçao de Pera and have come across two new restaurants both doing good food at reasonable prices and conveniently situated so that you can eat at one, walk the length of the promenade and have coffee and brandy at the other.
The Buzio is the first one on the boardwalk at the fishermens huts end with parking on the football club park (€ 1.50) and the other is Olivalmar (free parking) close to the Holiday Inn.
Both good quality traditional Portuguese but with specials and both with lovely views.
The walk is about 1.5 kms or about 20 minutes easy stroll each way but enough to ease your conscience after eating too much :D

Thanks for posting this - will have a look after Christmas where we're in the area. Being to the east side of cvo we often go to Porches, Lagoa or Alcantrilha but I would like to try some places in A de Pera but it's knowing where to start

If you like fish, I have had good reports from an " eat as much fish as you can for €12" Portuguese restaurant.

Can't recall the name but its the football end of the front : with your back to the sea, its down a pedestrian alley, about the 4th turning before the end. About 30 yards down, on left, tables inside and out.

Think its only open at lunch time...often a Q for tables, but just give your name to waiter.

Hi Geoff
I am liking the sound of the "eat as much as you can for €12" place as I love fish. I am a bit confused as to which is the football end of the front ? Is it the fisherman's beach end ?

I seem to remember seeing this place on Trip Advisor when I was searching for east of cvo restaurants in late summer. I love fish so ideal although we usually eat in the evening but in winter a different approach is called for.....
