Went this weekend to Vila Medici again, 4 weeks after the opening.
Had some pre dinner drinks on the beautifull inner patio with comfy seating and then inside to eat.
Must say that the food was superb as the first time we went right after the opening.
Sadly too many staff walking around in each other way..but no big deal..
I am sure that will sort itself out in time.
A must !!!!

Just come back from a 2 week holiday and loved this place. The staff are so friendly and understood that with 2 kids (3 and 7) waiting is not great so they brought out their main course with our starters and then the kids could play in the little play corner and we could enjoy our meal.
The first time we went they saw we had kids and moved us to the back where we could see the play area which was great.
Good facilites, great place.

This may seem a bit of a dumb question, but we've been to Vila Medici every year for the last few years on our visits to CVO - but knowing that the owner bought Primerva (sorry if i've spelt this wrong!) if we love the VM experience should we still go to VM or will we enjoy Primerva better?
What i'm trying to say is VM as it's always been or is Primerva the better option and like VM used to be?
The owner stopped and had a good chat with us last Sept about his plans, so just wondering really, as we arrive in CVO on 3rd Sept.

Hmmm. I live opposite. Tried to book a table - they said they were full. I overheard someone in the bar when I was having a drink saying they had not booked but they would be able to get in. And they were welcomed with open arms and given a table - 5 minutes after I had been told there was no availability. Sure - I understand that they may keep a few tables back for their regulars, but living over the road to them and recommending restaurants to visitors means that VM is one that may not make it onto the 2012 list.
The menu is not dissimilar to Prima Vera so I shall take my custom there in future.

Not sure if true but makes sense. Manager of Medici was offered the restaurant by the owner at a price if it became successful but when it came to down to it and the manager had the finance available the owner doubled the price so said manager negotiated to buy primaveira next door. Result is no connection just a possible war between them
