eating out on a budget ?
eating out on a budget ?
Hello, We are shortly coming out for a two week holiday and love eating out, but this year we are on a budget. Can you please tell me if the restaurants
generally have tourist menus ?
thanks

I have never noticed the 'tourist / economy / dish of the day' menues in CVO, However we came across them in Cabanas Tavira last week, where they ranged from 7.50 to 13 Euros for 3 courses with wine or beer.
We were informed that all restuarants in Portugal should have such menues and preferably placed in the menu list. Not sure if that is true or not, moreover someone on this site will put us right in that respect, no doubt.

If you want a good cheap meal, the O Branco is the place. It's away from town at the very top of Quinta Do Paraiso. They've got some swings at the back for the kids. Every time we've taken the grandikids in the summer, they have made friends and we have had a quiet meal and chat with the parents.

We like going inland a bit and stopping at a roadside cafe for lunch. Chances are the English will be limited but it's not a problem.
