Always enjoyed our take aways from this place in Lagoa.Not just piri piri but also the almond tart and from what Mum tells me they are still just as good.
Hope I have spelt it correctly.

It is still really good and cheap. The owner, mum', really tickles me, she sits at a table in the middle
with at least 3 mobile phones, overseeing operations, and a quick nod to a waiter or a tut!, gets them running around like mad

Hi Tricky,yes we always enjoyed our takeaways from this restaurant.It was a treat once a week.The old chap used to cook chicken on the BBQ but I heard that he died.They were very nice people there.Sometimes we sat in there and had a meal.The almond tart was really good.I could eat some of that piri piri right now and a large piece of almond tart

Mmmm some very nice memories of this restaurant. Not just the chicken piri piri but the lovely fresh salad, chips and of course some bottles of Sagres beer.....
I must visit again when we retire out there

At the carvoeiro/lagoa crossroads, just on the left when you turn right at the lights heading towards the fatacil. I will be there tomorrow evening...

We went there with two friends for lunch last Tues (11th) - great chicken - much more meat on the bone than ramires and frango-frango - and cheaper. Chicken for 4 (more than enough), 2 salad, 2 chips, 2 botttles wine, water, 4 coffee, 2 medronio - €50 - great meal! My only possible complaint was the piri piri sauce wasnt hot enough (I like it HOT), but the head chef promised a "multi-forte" one if I asked next time!

That'll make your eyes water Mac!

I hope, once we retire out there, it'll be the first place we visit..to re-live old memories..
Looking back, I believe it was the first restaurant we went to in Algarve..we were living in Carvoeiro then (for month) before we moved into Lagoa..
happy days sigh.....

If you do like VERY HOT piri piri try Nuno's and ask for Francisca's own Piri-Piri sauce to go with it- its not in a bottle, just a dish. Nuno usually stands at the side with a grinon his face to watch the reaction of any newbie on this stuff. Its fantastic!

Are these the people at O Casarao Mac? or is this a different place?
