Hi, new to this site! Staying in Carvoeira in June for the first time - Silver wedding anniversary on 2nd July - any ideas for a vegetarian meal for hubby & I? It will be our first holiday without children

Portuguese are not big on vegetarian cuisine, but we were in Ele e Ela the other night which is a lovely restaurant in the centre of Carvoeiro & they seemed to have quite a good selection of vegetarian dishes. You must book well in advance though. Number in the FAQ section. Have a wonderful holiday.

I would also recommend Maximes they do a great vegetarian meal, or Brasserie Marina at the top of Benagil road also good veggie options.

Elle and Ella without a doubt - they always have the best veggie menu in town and service and atmosphere is excellent

This is only an idea, but my sister and her husband who are both veggies
love the village inn. Apparently its on the local road to Portimato and someone should be able to help you with directions. Its on the free map

Barnards in Ferragudo have a really good separate veggie menu. I'm not vegetarian but when I went the menu looked so good that I had a meat free night and wasn't disappointed.
