Hi Barry,Barry wrote:Our villa is at the Sesmarias end of QDP and I clocked the journey last time we went (by car). It was 1.8 km. A bit of a hike, but not impossible on a pleasant evening. We regularly walk down into the village and thats about 1.5 km and takes about 20 minutes (25 coming back because it's uphill).
I will be staying just up to the left of Escondidinho and about 5 minutes walk down from O'Branco, we have discussed these restaurants on previous posts. Is there any more reasonably priced restaurants up the top end of QDP?
Cheers
Steve
Sorry for the slow reply but we have just returned back from 9 weeks in CVO and are just catching up.
Tricky, my wife uses the tennis club twice a week when we are in residence, and it is a fairly quick walk into the top end of QDP (near the apartments). From there walk down the hill past reception. Before you reach the front entrance to QDP, there is a road to the left. Take this and turn right at the T-junction to the Paraiso road. Cross staight over and there is a lane that will take you into the village (near the post office). Takes us 20 minutes from the top end of QDP, and is a pleasant walk.
Stevie,
The only other inexpensive restaurant I know of is O Branco. We did not try it this time. It has changed from a medium quality restaurant, to a 7 euro prato do dia establishment. Seemed popular with the workers, since it undercuts Escondidinho by 2 euros.
