I have been quoted Euro 4,500 for an external paint job on my four bed villa. The rendering is generally in good shape with no obvious flaws or defects and they will use plasticised paint.

Does this seem to be in the general ballpark?

IMHO that really depends on the paintjob.

Surface area, type of paint, number of layers, primer, etc will all affect the price. We have had works executed on a standard 3 bedroom Vale do Milho house for 7500 plus VAT that included all outside and garden walls and irons. Jet wash, cracks and render repairs, 2 layers of primer, 2 layers of Kenitex high quality exterior paint, garage gate and all the bars on the windows. This job comes with a 5 year guarantee and a free jet wash after 3 years.

Get some more quotes so you have some comparison and pay close attention to the details (Guarantees, treatments, etc)
