Off Peak Electricity

Post by CM »

We have been advised by a few friends to change to "off peak" (nightime rates) Electricity. We heat the pool for four months of the year, plus we have the filtration system on all year round any advice/info people?

Off peak is a good idea if you have a high power consumption. That way you can run several machines during the night (Washing, dishwasher, etc) and save a wad.

Careful with the poolheating during the night, if the neighbours are disturbed by the noise of the compressor, you are obliged by law to cease running it at night.

Off peak

I used the old night meter system a few years back but found you had to have a very high consumption to make it worthwhile. You pay quite a bit more standing charge per month.

We changed to the off peak as we heat the pool thru the night and we also have the a/c's on during the evening when it is very hot - our electricity bill has reduced dramatically. off peak time is 10 pm thru to 8 am.

Off peak rates are 0.054 per unit and full rate is 0.098 per unit. The monthly standing charge is about €3 extra for bi horario over tarifa simples
