planning permission???

Post by shells »

Dear all,

Could anyone advise me whether you need a license to have one of those wooden structures put up on your land??

I keep getting conflicting information, some saying that if it is a temporary structure you don't need planning permission while others say you do.

It would literally be a 4x3 m wooden hut to use as an office in the back of my house.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I know some people around the Silves area and also in Monchique, who wanted to put up some wooden structures on their land and were refused permission. This was probably on the basis that they are a fire hazard. Not 100% certain, it may differ from câmara to câmara, best to check with your local câmara planning department.

Seems a bit strange to me as I was under the impression that these log cabins were treated for fire proofing.

Looks like it will have to be a steel structure....

It's so frustrating getting definitive information in Portugal

Thanks for your help ...
