Post by Guest »

Having (almost) built my new home I was a little surprised to get a quote to buid a simple garage....Single Brick / Concrete floor / 6 windows three doors./ Sloping roof with tiles on it.........of 400 to 500 Euro a square metre....Has anybody had any experience on costs per sq metre (Its 200 sq.m in all) ..to buils a garage here...80K Euro is a lot for a Garage...???

Thats a very serious garage. I would love to own that , don't think my family would see me again apart from meals.
What are you going to put in it?

I don't think the cost /m sq sounds huge. I suppose it depends on the shape somewhat. If it's squarish, then the roof is going to be more complicated and hence cost more.

I chose a sloping (Lean to) roof cause I thought it to be the cheapest way...using pre-fab slabs.......
Then I thought of those steel types...but my wife says ugly ??
So now I'm just feeling around ..I saw on the UK internet sites quotes from £50 a sq metre ..and on another I saw £225 a sq. metre..now I'm really confused...Oh what will I put in it..Lathes / Mills ..hoist...etc etc......I like to hide away and play with my toys...might even keep the odd car in there.......must rush...back to UK tonight ..Chichester.
Bye
