Bank Accounts

We are buying in CVO and will need to set up a Portugese bank account. Since we initially will not be spending a great deal of time at our villa, it would be useful to be able to control the account from the UK. An earlier post said that Banco Espirito Santo provided this service, but I can find no way of accessing their site in English. Tried phoning the London branch but got nowhere, except for an invitation to pop in and see them - from Gloucestershire? Any good experiences of banking in the CVO area would be appreciated.

Why not follow the "euro Bank Account" topic ob the General Forum and contribute or gain from that?

You need to open your account first. You then get a card with access number and pick your on line PIN. You can then access in English. You should go into a BES branch with all your bits of paper to open the account you they will sort everything out for you.

It is in Lagoa
