Rogue lawyer - yet another one!

Post by Mexican Pete » Sat May 04, 2019 5:45 pm

In the last few days I have discovered that my rogue of a lawyer (who is also my "Fiscal Rep") with whom I have been dealing for 10+ years, has made off with over €1,400 IMI and IMIA payments that I've made to him but which he has failed to pass on to Finanças! Faint hope I know, but is there anywhere I might go for redress?

Any (legal and/or law-abiding) suggestions gratefully received!

If he/she was a genuine lawyer then they should have a professional body that regulated them and that body should be able to help you. Also speak to the equivalent of trading standards.

that's a very, very meagre amount of money to run off with... he won`t go far with that, and to risk losing his practicing licence and face a lifetime ban (getting barred) does not substantiate the risk..

are you "sure" he was a bonafide lawyer ?
