Salicos

Does anyone have any thoughts on Salicos as an area to buy in? Looking at a house online, not sure exactly where it is so I'm just looking at the general area for now.

I'm looking at it on Google Maps and it looks quite near to Poco Partido... that is a bad area isn't it?

we have lived in quinta dos salicos for 5 years and we couldn't be happier.we are 10 mins from carvoeiro beach,5 mins from intermarche and as we have children it is only 10 mins to the international school.poco partido has a reputation, but it is not that close,a couple of mins drive away.we have never had any trouble from the estate,and we have very good freinds who live there.we find there are quite a few english in this area,and it is more of a residential area than a holiday resort.hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I was on my way to the supermarket earlier and decided to take a detour and drive around Salicos. The area itself looks good... nice houses but close enough to the restaurants etc of Carvoeiro.

I'm not sure exactly where the house is as its just listed as "salicos" so could be anywhere really. Does this look familiar?

I am pretty sure this house is the one at the top of the hill as you come from the Fatacil, Lagoa towards Marina Beach etc. If you head from the Lagoa Galp/Carvoeiro traffic lights on the 125 heading east towards Faro and turn right at the Fatacil traffic lights then keep going straight ahead over the roundabout, over the two speed ramps and up the hill you will see this house on the left before (almost on) the roundabout.

I had a quick look on the way out tonight but it was far too dark by the point - i did drive over the two speed bumps but couldn't really see anything on either side.

Will take a proper look tomorrow or the day after.

Yup its 20,000 square meters which is really appealing to me.
