How fast is your broadband?
The Qdp site-wide wifi is in operation, I'm using it now. It's only 1Mbps down and 250Kbps up but I don't know if there is a bandwidth limit per user. The wireless data rate is erratic, from 54Mbps down to 1Mbps. No use for streaming TV, so that won't be an option if we use freesat. I've got used to 15Mbps in the UK.

Here on Boavista I ran a check yesterday and was amazed to see a download speed of just over 5mps.
Great I thought " problems solved ".
Back to normal this morning just when I had a lot of emails to send with attachments.

Re: How fast is your broadband?
Hmm - this is interesting as I keep considering a "permanent" connection instead of my mobile dongle. Its rated at 7.2 mps and I do regularly get over 5. Its unlimited download on "minutes" (€10/600) and IGb on "data" so for normal stuff it's ok. cant see it being much use for streaming TV though.

I got a good signal in O Branco last night as I tucked into a very tasty pork and mushroom saucy thing and a bit too much cheap red.

Re: How fast is your broadband?
QdP has installed loads of outdoor access points, I've noticed that if I connect to access point 01, it tends to keep up a decent speed. Any of the others very quickly drop to 1Mbps.

At the top of QdP. I think that's the right name.

Its a regular lunch place for us - excellent value - I think it's just Branco, but then again I'm usually a bit "unaware" when I come out
