IMI tax for blacklisted residents
IMI tax for blacklisted residents
Some good news, for a change, is that the law that penalised individuals residing in blacklisted territories (Dubai, Jersey, BVI etc) which meant they paid aggravated IMI charges on their properties, has now been revoked retrospectively to include 2011.
If any person in that situation has paid the 5% IMI in April in respect of 2011 they should contact their fiscal representative as they may need to make an official claim to recover the excess tax paid.
Blacklisted companies will still pay the excess tax
