trailing Ice ground cover

I thought I was buying a particular succulent ground cover which I have seen all over the place. when it was delivered it was a succulent and seems to be linked to trailing ice but the leaves are much finer than ones I have seen in my neighbours garden that spreads indefinitely. The one I purchased is lampranthus purpurreus. I have been told each pkant will only spread about 2' but my book seems to say indefinitely. I am totally confused. Has anyone got any thoughts on what plant I should be asking for that is referred to as trailing ice?

Dunno love.......We just go for a country, or clifftop walk and just dig up whatever we think looks good!! (There always runners or baby plants growing near the mother plants.....so you arent doing any harm!!)

It really doesn´t. That is the beauty of the plant. Just cut off a good portion and put it in the ground. Keep it watered, and it will sprout.
