Local SIM. card/pay as you go

Post by LICY »

I'm bringing over a spare NOKIA and want to get a local SIM card. thought best option would be PAYG so we can leave the mobile for others to use. What is our best bet to buy and what is the cost per minute? Don't really want something you must top up every month and don't want to lose credit on the phone. :?:

The TMN leve tariff doesn't require regular top-up but you must make a chargeable call every 3 months to avoid the number going dormant.

TMN, Vodafone, PT are all very similar prices - the sim card is usually about €9.99 and the call costs tend to be about 30% of using a uk mobile - especially for overseas calls. Go to the phone shop in Intermarche or the vodafone shop at the airport arrivals - there are also 4/5 phone shops at the algarve shopping centre in Guia who are always open and offering various deals.
