Re: proxy ip addresses
I use Expat Shield. You can find it on a Google search. Have found it very good. I connect when I need it. Can watch most programmes which are usually not available. Good luck.

Hi, Please excuse my ignorance, but how does this work? Does it allow you to watch BBC iplayer in Portugal? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Re: proxy ip addresses
Yes it allows one to watch BBC and ITV I player. My internet connection here is diabolical, so it does freeze sometimes, I only get 1.5mb download from Sapo, however anything more and you should be fine, but one can still watch the replay of the Rugby World Cup, if one has not recorded it.Ma-Ja's wrote:Hi, Please excuse my ignorance, but how does this work? Sorry Sunman, yes I believe it is designed for Windows, was not sure if it would work on a Mac, but worth a try.
Re: proxy ip addresses

Re: proxy ip addresses
Sunman, I tried last year with a proxy adddress and it did not work. The villa's tv I stayed in had 100 channels...........in Arabic!
Thus, with my laptop, I went onto http://www.tvproxy.co.uk and paid about £10 for a month. I got all the main channnels except BBC1 which kept crashing. The website may have improved since then.
I am sure there are better alternatives listed here.

I use UKTVAccess for some time now.. it's very cheap and the service is great...if you ask me don't spend your time with expatshield , it was almost crashing my laptop!
Re: proxy ip addresses
I have used Expat Shield with no problems on my old desk PC. It has an AMD 2.6 dual core processor and 4 gig of RAM running Windows XP. Very successful for watching BBC Iplayer.
