Pebble tech pools & solar heating etc

Post by LICY »

Has any one got any experience or knows of any pebble pools in CVO? we will be installer one in our new build and need to see the colours. Since there are so many variations on blue and the fact you cannot hazard a guess by seeing the product out of a pool we need to find pools or a supplier. Any help appreciated.
we do not have pool heating in the price of our pool and have previously considered a heat exchanger. the price seems to be about 5k euro fitted which we do not have in spare funds now. Does anyone know what we would need to do by way of pre installation save for make sure we have the electrics. our villa is raised as the plot is on a slope so the pool will be built at the level of the accommodation with the pool room being under the terrace to the pool. Macassar fitted solar and wonder what the costs are there. our pool is small and has more than 4 unequal sides if that makes sense. it will be 1.4m deep and probably equivalent to a 7 x 4m pool. my husband says it's 35m overall but maths is not my subject. we also need a pool cover and again have problems as I wonder where we could install a roller as the pool butts up one end to the villa, part of a side to a wall and thus we only have 2 potential sides big enough for the width of a roller. one of those ends will be the steps and I would say we have about 2m deep of terrace at this point so not great for loungers. the side facing the sitting room is the main terrace for the time being. zany bright ideas?

We put in a Pebble Pool 7 years ago and have been very pleased with it. It has a heater but not solar and the electricity costs a fortune, even though we charge clients for heating the pool. We don't have a cover because of the shape of the pool and concern that rental clients would not look after it properly so we lose a lot of heat overnight - not ideal. If you would like further info please feel free to contact us. Any pool company will take you to see sample pools so that you can get an idea for what they look like.

Hi, My name is Tim Gurnett and my company Pebblepools, is based in Lagos. I would be very happy to demo finishes and samples both in finished pools and with sample boards. You definately need to see pools in the ground before making any decisions. The office number is 282 788 673. Please call if you are still planning your pool.

Tim and his ex partner Dave? Built my pebble pool 16 years ago, hi Tim, fantastically pleased with the result. They build in lots of interesting features such as water falls and the like. They have a lot of installations since mine that you can look at, good to see they are still going. I went for a gold sand pebble finish which when water is added gives the clearest blue you can imagine. I have since sold the house long ago but keep in touch and the pool is as good as new.

I sent Tim a PM to say as the villa is nearing completion we had to go on line (not the best way) to see colours and chose on that basis. Pretty sure it's already purchased. Good to hear you are/were happy with the product. 8)

16 years aga it wasn't possible to go on line and see the colours, just took Tims advice and he was spot on although as we were one of his first pools he might have been winging it a bit
