How do you heat your bedrooms?

Having been warned off wafer heaters, I've just seen these on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews ... ewpoints=1 As they have thermostats and timers, I thought they looked ideal.

I used to work in an office in a large village hall, and at times I was the only person there, so I bought something similar for the office as when the main hall was not in use andthere was no heating on in the building. The timer and thermostat were great, as I would set it for 6am and it would only kick in if the main heating was off.

I use the air con set to a higher temperature but that is obviously not suitable for long term. In the UK I have a couple of the De Longhi Dragon 3 heaters. THe bigger ones are about £150 but are remote control, thermostatic and have a number of timing options - these are really efficient and possibly worth looking at? I know if I were to spend more time in Cvo over the winter I would probably go down that route.

Fitted air-con in the bedrooms last winter. Haven't been there in summer to try it, but it's brilliant in winter. Just switch it on 5 mins before I go to bed, and off again when I get into bed.

We have aircon with a hot setting in the bedrooms but I was told it wasn't a very efficient method. I also thought that, with the timer and thermostat, we could set it to come on for an hour or so each night when the place is empty.

We have oil fired central heating, the best thing we have ever done in Portugal was putting it in. The house is kept warm and aired during the winter when we are not there and the house is toasty warm when we are and we just turn up the heating a bit. Does the hot water too.

We have wet underfloor heating driven by a gas boiler which is prohibitively expensive, aircon units in the bedrooms which do the trick but are noisy and electric bar heaters in the bathrooms which are ok ish.

If you could start again from scratch and choose your ultimate heating / cooling system what would you choose?
