the bail out

Post by martin »

new report (see below) says that portugal might be next for a bail out, I am just curious to know where has all the money gone that the eu has sent to ireland and portugal for the past 20 years that requires them to have a bail out, one irish woman told me years ago that for every irish euro they paid in they got 8 back...same must be true for portugal..so wheres the money???

When large sums of money are transferred, they go thru various banking institutions.
At each stage, the bank takes a commission and charge.
So for each Euro that leaves Brussels and fraction of that arrives in the destination, with bankers all the way along the way getting nice bonuses.

Isn't that how we got into this mess or is it more complicated than that ?

Yes! "e" you're quite correct as usual, plus! we had Gordon Brown as chancellor and the labour government throwing money away left right and centre, that may have had a teeny weeny bit to do with it.

Well, thanks Pato, but even I am not sure I could blame GB for the financial "ruin" of Ireland and Portugal as well as the UK.

See Martin's original post

I'm with pato - blame him for everything that's gone wrong in the past decade! He's a control freak and that brings responsibilities!!
