TV Channels
I was in R J Tecnica the other day and I picked up this list of free TV channels available in the Algarve.
Re: TV Channels
Not strictly true, we are many others cannot get C4 or the +1s, on Freesat as the signal is sometimes just not strong enough to be received in the Algarve.

Re: TV Channels
I can get all of those on freesat and sky "free" with a 1.4 m dish + some others which I have manually tuned.
check out http://www.flysat.com/28east.php this gives the FULL list of available channels on Astra 28.5-28.2

Re: TV Channels
Q: If I have a skyplus box can I use that to capture other non sky channels in Algarve if not using a SKy subscription or better off just buying a normal hardrive?

Re: TV Channels
yes - you can input the channels manually - see list as above link - and input the necessary frequency etc. The same applies to the freesatbox.
Re: TV Channels
And UK TV's with built in HD Freeview - do they work OK ?

Re: TV Channels
NO , FREEVIEW is not available, you will need to buy a FREESAT box or SKY SUBSCRIPTION both require a satellite dish.

Re: TV Channels
No EMM, not correct, you do NOT need to buy a SKY subscription - you can use a normal sky box as a freesat box and receive the same freesat channels (and some more!) if you want FULL SKY channels - sports, movies etc then you have to have a subscription from a UK adress.
The SKY + box works as a Freesat box as well, but you cant record with it without a subscription.

Re: TV Channels
You can also buy FREEVIEW HD set top boxes as well as some very new FREEVIEW HD PVRs
The price is dropping by the week, and range of manufacturers growing similarly.

Re: TV Channels

Re: TV Channels
