Seriously, we have had a similar problem recently, we purchased some Baygon foam spray from Pingo Doce - 7 euros a tin. You spray around the door and window frames and it leaves an invisible residue that the ants won't cross. It's also worth spraying inside the water stop valve boxes, as this was how they were getting in our house.

The ones already inside were zapped with cheap Pingo Doce ant spray.

I also spray around all the doors and windows with the Baygon foam and this year I bought some of those ant traps that sit outside by the door, the ants walk through and take the bait back to the nest which kills them off. Seems to work for us we have gone from having loads on the terrace and around the back door to NONE..... amazing stuff
