villa cleaning
Hi guys, just a quick question, roughly how many hours cleaning would you allow per week for a three bedroom two bathroom villa when its being rented to clients?
many thanks,
Gerry.
many thanks,
Gerry.
Re: villa cleaning
I have a maid 2 hours a day 5 days a week and that seems fine, I suppose I am selective about tenants though, if you get scallies in it may take more hours. Again it depends on villa size, mine has three bedrooms two bathrooms and a shower room, lounge dining room and hall and large Kitchen, outside a fairly large deck and a normal sized pool, all on the flat. I pay all year, for what god only knows but that's how it works seemingly.

That sounds a bit excessive to me.pato wrote:2 hours a day 5 days a week
Not because, I don't believe in keeping the villa spotless, but surely that's quite an imposition/interruption for holidaymakers ?
Our maid does about 1-1.5 hours on each of 3 visits per week (plus 4-6 hours per changeover).
Mind you, Pato, as you've mentioned previously, I suspect you PAY for those hours, but who knows how many she actually does

Re: villa cleaning
Many thanks for the feedback, so about ten to twelve hours per week would be about right and what about the rate, nine to nine fifty an hour sound fair?
Re: villa cleaning
Surely it would be the same as for a 3 bedroomed house in the UK?
Do you really spend 15 hours a week cleaning your house?
God - I must be a real slob!!!!

Re: villa cleaning
When we used to rent a villa, we found the maid coming in every day to be intrusive. we setled on a villa in Sesmarias for 4 years running and had a maid Sat and wed for 2 hrs max and an end of rental clean for ~ 3hrs That seemed fine to us.
Re: villa cleaning
I think it really depends on the size of property, if it is rented out, and how often it is used. If you have a large property and a large party for a fortnight and they leave a mess there is no way the maid can get it ready for reoccupation in a few hours. If she goes in regularly she will keep on top of it, and know what to expect on change over day. If you let you need a regular, reliable maid service.
We have a large apartment with two annexes and several terraces. We do not let, but family and friends use it sometimes. I recently went in the day after my son and friends had used it for about 2 weeks. They were very good and left it in good condition, but there was still several wash loads of linens and towels, and I spent a few hours cleaning.
