holiday property exchange

We own a lovely 2 bedroom detached house on the holiday Isle of Anglesey, North Wales. We are looking to do a holiday exchange with somebody owning a small Villa/Apartment in the Carvoeiro area for about a month later this year.
Our house is close to many beaches and only 10 mins away from the town of Beaumaris with it's Castle,Pier and Bisros and Bars.The house is very well equipped with contempary Oak/Leather furniture and One and a Half Hours drive from Manchester Airport.

Now if you lived in the Caribbean you would have got my interest, but sadly Wales in autumn doesn't do it for me. Good luck I'm sure someone on the forum will be gagging to swop with you!

I used to live in Canton, Cardiff and worked as a sales rep in South Wales. In the 70's the area was dominated by collieries and steel works, every valley seemed to have it's own! But once you got north of the Heads of the Valleys road or west of Swansea the countryside was beautiful.

Got locked in a B&B in Beaumaris once & had to shout at the local milkman to get us out!

Yes those were the days Widge when we had industry in South Wales, sadly it's declining at an alarming rate with the steel works eventually all closing down. I'm a Swansea Jack myself, born in Brynmill just off the Mumbles road so Swansea beach and the Gower was my playground...oh lovely memories of picnincs on the beach at Langland, warm cheese and pickle sandwiches (no such things as cooler boxes) lemonade and my mam's Bara Brith (Welsh fruitcake). Out all day till ya dropped dog tired, bathed, ' jim jams ' on, mum and dad listening to The Archers then packed off to bed....gosh you've made me so homesick now

The Anglesey coastline is very similar to Cornwall,lots of cliffs,sandy beaches and coastle footpaths.Also, we are only 15 mins. away from the Snowdonia national park which has very dramatic scenery and fabulous walks (if your into that type of thing ! ).The reason that I came up with the "holiday swap" idea was because the villa that we liked to go to in Sesmarias
( which is owned by my nephew )is always fully booked throughout the summer, usually to golfers,so we can only go Nov-Feb.
Last time we were there we got talking to an English couple,who had moved to Silves who said that they wish they had a "bolt hole" in the Uk that they could visit a couple of times a year to catch up with their family and freinds.That's where the idea came from, I should have got their details,hope they get to read this.

Hi Tom tom, not sure if this is of any use to you but I have a 3 bed villa just out side Porches and we may be able to do some kind of a deal. Maybe something like you take my place this year and I take your place next year when your on holidays somewhere else? That doesn,t sound quite right but you get the general idea. Have a think about it .
A couple of years ago was trying to see if anybody was interested in property swaps, you know somebody with an apt or villa in loule swap with somebody with a prop on the coast, anyway didn,t take off but maybe now with the recession etc.

Not having much luck with this ,can't say I blame you lucky lot for not wanting to return to the uk for a few weeks !
So, does anyone know of a place we can rent for 2-4 weeks anytime late July to end Sept. ? (Preferably with pool access and sensible rate).
