i was nearly at east miclands airport on sunday 16th may at 4pm on the way to get the ryanair 17.50 flight to faro when i was notified by text that the flight was cancelled.it does seem short notice just 1 hour 50 mins before departure???applied for a refund but this could take up to 30 days !!!seems unfair that ryanair will have thousands of pounds of customers monies sat in their bank account for so long.obviously earning them interest.

Yes, its a great sport having a go at Ryanair, and I'm not defending Ryanair's general policies, but please stop and think for half a second:

The volcanic ash was not Ryanair's fault at all, yet they will:
- by law, refund 100% of your air fare to you
- continue to pay all their staff
- continue to meet all their other fixed costs
- continue to pay bank interest on their loans to purchase the planes etc.

and they will have no way of recovering the lost income.

What rogues they are for earning a few pennies interest on your air fare because they do not have all the extra staff on hand to immediately refund your money in these unusual circumstances
