Thieving b'stards around the ADM - POLL
Just how many of you have had break-ins (or thefts) on ADM or elsewhere? Reading this topic is a little disconcerting. We rent a fantastic villa there each Christmas and I have to admit we haven't been the victims of any break-ins although (unconfirmed) there was one last year at a villa across the road. Apparently, despite two (very) loud dogs that bark at everything that passes, thieves got into the villa and helped themselves while the owner was out!

We have learned to our cost that everything not locked down or put away will be nicked, certainly over the winter time.
We have had tables, chairs, sunbeds, you name it stolen. Even the logs for the woodburner stacked up in the car-port.
It's a shame that the attitude of the locals seems to be a lassiez fair attitude of "Oh well these things happen"

Be sure to distinguish between break-in and theft.
Leaving something open or lying outside can lead to something being nicked depending on the area (and ADM seems to be prone to it), but it hardly qualifies as a break-in.

MC - No I am serious ... it would be useful to know who has been hit more than once.

Added it. Try it out and let me know if you're able to cast two votes, will you?jonboy wrote:MC - No I am serious ... it would be useful to know who has been hit more than once.

Strange, isn't it? If even those that have been victims of crime won't admit it (anonymously via a vote), how on earth can they hope to unite in some way to combat it? Any thief worth his swag will be logging onto this forum and laughing his head off.widge wrote:This poll is receiving fewer votes than labour got at the last election !

Thx MC - no it only allowed me the one vote. Poor show at the polls. It would have really useful if more had come forward... good try though.

Although I am not a home owner in CVO,I am amazed at the poor turnout on this poll. From previous posts theft is as rife in CVO ( if not more than some places cos of the openess and holiday atmosphere) yet no one wishes to do justice to this important fact.
There is no point in complaining and whinning,if you are inklined to not take part in a poll or do anything objective about the situation. Deplorable.
I know no one is intersted in my boring comments, however as an active member of home watch, neighbourhood watch, horse watch and farm watch, I understand apathy, but am apalled at the negative perspective that seems to dominate your special place.

Re: Thieving b'stards around the ADM - POLL
My reason for not voting is nothing to do with apathy, we do not have property on ADM and thankfully, our property elsewhere has not been burgled, but I don't wish to vote for 'not yet' as if it is inevitably going to happen - I would have voted 'no'

Re: Thieving b'stards around the ADM - POLL
Perhaps this poll is showing what most of us believe - crime is not rife in CVO. It is uncommon and not the norm!
- good old CVO!
