parking restrictions in CVO

just a warning to be aware that you will get a ticket if you park on the wrong side of the road in CVO now the road has changed to 2 way traffic.i was in ele ele last monday night 16th feb&when i came out at 11pm i walked down to where i had parked the car which was outside EDL eatate agent which is approx 200 yards down from ele ele on the same side when the police were there along with a tow truck just about to winch my car onto the truck so i shot back to ele ele&asked the waiter if he would come to assist me as my portugese is poor,he came down with me&managed to get them to stop putting the car onto the truck but i still had to pay 60 euros to the truck man&he explained that now the road was 2 way traffic you are not allowed to park there,i explained that i could not see any road markings stating this fact&had parked there numerous times on previous visits&he told me it was only because the road is now 2 way but i stiil got a 30 euro fine!!the waiter from ele ele i dont know his name he is south african guy was very very helpful in all this.

The tow away zone is clearly marked as are the parking places, it is clear that NO parking is allowed ather than in the marked parking areas.

This morning we watched an expat car park in the tow away zone and get moved on PDQ by the GNR.
Cars were driving round town looking for somewhere to park.

There are yellow lines on the road, a bit faded , this is where the train used to stop and parking was always difficult here with the GNR very active at times.

I also noticed some temporay barriers tucked away , are these going to be used at night to make even more of the town traffic free ????.

Do hope so, there is plenty of parking around Algar seco and Monte Carvoeiro and walking is good for you.

Whenever I drive into Carvoeiro, I always park up by the church and walk down past the GNR post. I've never failed to find a space up there. The vast majority of us don't have a walking impediment, so the exercise is good for us.

This is probably more a question of habit of parking there, but when a one way road has been splt down the middle to allow two-way traffic it is quite narrow in most places.
Common sense dictates that if my parked car takes up 3/4 of the driving lane it may be in the way and the authorities may choose to tow it if I leave it there for longer than say, the time it takes to buy fags and a newspaper.
I mean, you would not park your car on the road up to Monte Carvoeiro and take up 3/4 of that lane while you have a curry meal at the indian, would you?
