So what happens if you cannot get an alternative? Will they give you a full refund?

This is what worries me Pato. They cancel the outgoing flight and refund but don't refund the return flight because they haven't cancelled it, even though you couldn't get out there. :)

A friend of mine who is visiting in November just had his return flight cancelled on 18th November! He's furious!

We've just had an e-mail from Monarch regarding my mother-in-law's flight over in December, her flight has been cancelled and she is now travelling the following day.

As she is staying for a month over Christmas and New Year a day lost doesn't matter much, but if you were only staying a week it would be quite annoying

Gatwick, was 12 Dec, now 13th - I expect the flights nearer to christmas will be ok, but maybe Nov - mid Dec is a quiet time

they have offered us a refund or a free transfer of our flights which i am going to try to book tonight for a couple of days before our cancelled outbound flight&will see what happens.it makes me wonder what would happen if i could not re-book any suitable flights if they would refund me the inbound flight? (i think not!!)

Just checked on our inspection visit in March from Gatwick and our flight back has been moved from 10am to 2130! Outbound flight still intact but they agreed to cancel the whole trip and obtained a full refund. Now on Monarch but £27 dearer.
