The company I work for is pan-European and use Orange as their supplier - phones and internet access work across EU and Switzerland.

£8 per day is a whopping £240 odd a month! Is this every day, or just on the days during which you use it?

Sorry, just the days I use it and it is a 24 hr period not calendar days. So I tend to use an afternoon followed by a morning to get 2 days for the price of 1!

Doing what you are suggesting is perfectly OK with virtually all of the dongles you can buy (including the ones sold in Portugal) but extremely expensive. I think we should club together on the website and get half a dozen of the 22 euro a month dongles which we can "rent" out to members for the time they are in Portugal! I have ended up paying the 22 euros a month even though I will only use mind maybe 4 months of the year. It is the convenience of knowing it works and it still costs less than using my PDA to get emails etc.

Vodafone UK (business) have a tarif for a datacard (suitable for laptop) that you pay £15 extra for data throughout Europe on top of the tariff you choose for UK data!
