car - insurance excess again

just returned after a week over the festival in CVO .
Hired a car from Europcar - dont usually use them and won't again .Booked online b4 I came out and rate was £160 for a golf for a week - fair enough.
however when I got there they gave the usual bit about the insurance carries an excess and would I like to take out extra ins to cover this . Normally I say no as the excess is about 700 Euros so take the risk .No -their excess is 2500 euros and it then cost me 100 euros to insure against this - what a rip off .So it wasnt such a good deal after all.Also I arranged to pick up from their office at 11 am and it was closed - stood there for best part of an hour waiting for someone to turn up .Another guy was there waiting with me and they then tried to charge him for bringing the car back late - cheek !
So beware when booking with Europcar - the deals are not as they seem .
Can anyone remind me where I can get the annual policy to cover the excess ?

That insurance policy covers anywhere in Europe, any number of trips, so don't delay - you may need it somewhere else.

For another tenner, you can even get worldwide coverage.
