Damp

Post by pato »

It seems to be a major problem here, when I visit in early spring the beds seem damp, I've been advised to get de-humidifiers and it does help, the house is managed and I pay a maid to work throughout the year but I feel they do very little in the winter, should they air the rooms on a regular basis, would that help, the house is air conditioned, any help!

Do you have a management company as well? They should check that the maid is up to scratch.
We are very lucky with our maid.....she sees the house as her own property that she allows us to visit...as long as we look after the place to her standards!

Touch wood, because of her, we never have the problems that Pato mentions.

On a serious note.....

If you pay a maid year round, as we do, she is effectively being paid for very little in the winter....so the very least you can expect is that she keeps the place aired, and spring cleaning type jobs that she doesn't have time for in the summer are done.

Hiya, we find that heat during the winter keeps the damp at bay. We are lucky enough to have central heating which is run on oil so we can leave the timer during the winter months, to come on for an hour or so in the morning and again at night.
If you have air con, can you also use them for heat and maybe put a timer on them ?
