is there any advantage or disadvantage in being a residant in portugal regards colin cheetham
If you live here for more than 6 months a year you are legally required to apply for residence. You would have to submit tax returns here and perhaps in the UK as well. You can import your UK car (subject to conditions) free of tax and you can join the Portuguese NHS which can save money. As a resident you can also roll over capital gains tax on the sale of property.
