Planning permission in Monchique area

Post by Sheila »

We are having a lot of trouble getting planning consent from the Monchique Camara. So far we have waited 14 months! Has anyone else had this sort of problem? :(

We waited 12 months in Lagoa, were told Portimao is even longer.

Albufeira is 3- 6 months.
There are always good reason for the delay though !!!

Was that just for the original design or for the 'specialities' as well? We hear that can be another 12 months! We're feeling like giving up.

There are lots of time limits set but they seem to ignore them.
Some excuses we've had are, 'The Mayor was on holiday for the whole of December' and 'the Architect is off sick'.

The Mayor is supposed to have signed the decision ( we know not if its favourable or not) on the 19th January but we haven't received it yet.

WE had to change a couple of windows, then cam e the new regs about health and safety, waste disposal etc. anyway building started within weeks of getting our liscence and all being well will be completed this year.
But we have steered clear of any changes that may require additional project approvals so as to avoid any more delays.
The next hurdle will be getting the habitation lisence, any guesses as to how long this will take from completion ??
