Hi Bondi,

Since the two I reported on, we have not been able to make any progress with new licences, partialy because the rest are starting in the process a lot further back and also because our building planner responsible for the plan submissions fell ill for a few weeks.

I have not heard of any changes to the process yet.

Many thanks for update. I hope your pending applications, will be sorted soon, and hope your engineer will get well soon too. Nice to know that as per your information the process is still the same. Do you still know how i can get hold of a PLAQUE, it seems Silves Camara, have them BUT dont know what to charge for them. I got my COMPLAINTS BOOK after a long wait too, along with A4 noitce of the same to be displayed in the property in a prominent position.

Thanks

Bondi

Yes they are - it's not straightforward, and they often come back for a second inspection!

     I agree with above comments.

i submitted my application way back in september 2008, and assumed that all was ok and CAMARA OF SILVES like others have 8 weeks to agree or disagree. i thought i was in clear than this week i got letter from silves camara asking for details that I HAD ALREADY PROVIDED with my application intially. And the additional information they are asking is so stupid as my application is for T1 in a block of apartment, and camara wants to know WHICH PART OF MY APARTMENT WILL BE USED FOR RENTAL purposes? would you believe that? also i provided electicians certificate with my application and yet again now they want to know what make and model the electric boiler is and also WHAT ARE THE DETAILS oF my COMPANY? when it is A private INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION. Also i have NO GAS in my property and they want to know all the details of GAS APPPIANCES etc in apartment. most of all the letter i got was approved my two of the highest beauraucrats in the town hall? didnt they check the papers i submitted to see it was all there before authorising a request letter coming out to me? MIND BOGGLES.

So who ever applies for this license PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PROVIDE ALL ADDTIONAL INFORMATION WITH YOUR APPLICATION, even when not necessary. and MOST OF ALL DONT ASSUME once you have handed your papers in it will be the end of it.

when I wrote under the thread "here we go again" about the threat of more police raids on rented property and or agencies Bondi wrote and I quote

"i agree since the legislation came in to force and procedures were simplified i gather majority of the property owners are still ingnoring the law and hoping it will go away.but as autorities have declared I am sure it was only question of time before ASEA will really comedown and start fining property owners without license. i had mine done over a year ago and it was simple process as long as your paperwork for property was all in order. you just submitted basic paperwork to local town hall with your request to town hall president and that was it."

have you now changed your opinion of the process?

Yes martin i have now changed my opinion about this licensinjg process BUT i am NOT surprised by the latest development with my application. having previously dealt with portuguese bureacracy i thought finally the corner must have turned and things are getting bit better how wrong i was now i believe any thing is possible when dealing with the town hall or could it just be that people who try to abide by the law are treated with more suspicion and out of ordinary then people who ignore the law. any way i am on the case now and will keep you posted wirth what happens next no doubt they will come up with another silly request and show how incompetent the town halls and blooody sys         tem is.

I have just received my AL from Lagoa Camara having been informed verbally at the last Council inspection about 5 weeks ago that it would be granted. Altogether the process lasted 7 months although the time taken has been as much due to me as to the Camara. eg my delay in getting the electrical inspection completed. I found the people from the Camara efficient and courteous in all my dealings. What's the problem?
