Please excuse my ignorance on this matter but can someone clarify a few points for me? Firstly, I was on the understanding a few years back that Meo/PT was the only company that installed a telephone line, is that still the case? Secondly, do you still need a telephone line to have internet access that is fast enough for streaming TV or is there now another way?

Hi Ma-Ja,
I think that things have changed & that whilst PT may own the network that supplies telephony others can make the final connection to your house and bill for services. You can now get satellite internet, dongles etc. etc.

Hopefully someone like pickwick will respond as he has a very good understanding of these matters & can explain much better than me.

Just had a letter through with my monthy cabo bill saying that they have upgraded all clients who had 20 megers to 30 megers for free, and with no change to there current contract.

Cabo duly arrived on Thursday for the installation. Quite straight forward and speedtest showed just over 31 mbps download speed and almost 2 upload. Very close to what we have here in Lincoln with Virgin Media. WiFi strong all over the house but have not tried the basement rooms yet. Sadly had to head off back to the UK on Friday so not had much time to play with the IPTV box but will do next month.

Suddenly hubby managed to watch almost an entire football match with on 1-2 short lived frozen moments on Saturday. How strange as my family tried to watch the FA cup and gave up.I don't want a load of wires showing. Not sure if I would with cable.
