Thieving b'stards around the ADM - POLL
Re: Thieving b'stards around the ADM - POLL
HR - I would like to think the same but if you talk to the villa managers then they will tell you that as many as 20-25% of the properties they manage are either broken into or damaged through attempted break ins every year and in particular when they are occupied.

JB - are we talking about villas owned by individuals and not part of a complex, or complexes like Monte Carveiro that are owned by a Management Company? - is there a difference in the theft occurences between the 2 types of ownership?jonboy wrote:HR - I would like to think the same but if you talk to the villa managers then they will tell you that as many as 20-25% of the properties they manage are either broken into or damaged through attempted break ins every year and in particular when they are occupied.

HR - Both. I know two villa managers who betwen them look after say 35 properties on VDM, ADM CC MC and QDP who have recurring problems with break ins year in year out. Rife is probably the wrong word but there is a problem.

One sure way to find out is to ask the GNR ???
I am sure not all owners browse this site.
The poll should also include visitors to these villas , after all they are the target of the thieves.
It only takes one break-in to take away a lifetime of privacy & security.
Prevention is always better than the cure but how far do you have to go to prevent ?
Do not forget the subject of this forum !!!

Hello Martin - I don't think GNR will:
1) keep readily available stats and
2) even if they did they would probably withold them due to their poor clear up rate.
We were broken into earlier this year and it is not a nice feeling. Our property is now even more fortified than before and there is one or two surprises for anyone who should try it on again amd maybe be enough to provide the GNR with evidence to catch 'em.
Our manager was broken into this year and is aware of others that they look after who were victims. Make no mistake this is a problem. The GNR confirmed to me that they know the culprits but need to catch them red handed or with conclusive evidence that ties them to the scene of crime. So they do nothing more than log it, produce a nice crime report for the unlucky souls to pass onto their insurers and bury their heads in the sand. They should do more especially as they know where these people live and what they do.
