Only prob with BA is that they're totally inflexible unless you pay the earth. At Easter we asked to change just the christian name on one of our tickets as elder son couldn't travel and cousin wanted to take his place but were told it was impossible. Don't know why EJ, Monarch etc can do a complete name change with only hours to spare but BA can't do anything at all. It's a mystery - even BA staff can't explain!

Just a quick update on our experience of the flight to Faro via Lisbon - disaster!

Flight out was on Sat 26th May - we (family of 4) were part of a group of 30 passengers who were told when we reached Lisbon that there was no room for us on the flight to Faro and that we would have to wait until 4pm for the next flight (this was at 10am). After a lot of hanging around at the transfer desk we decided not to take up TAP on this, changed our car hire to collect from Lisbon (hurrah for Budget who were brilliant) and drove down instead arriving around 2:45pm (2 hour drive). Our bags meanwhile had gone on to Faro (but TAP couldn't/wouldn't tell us this) but as I had to go to the airport to exchange the car for the minibus I had ordered we were able to collect bags at the same time.

Supposed to being on the same flights in August - will probably cancel the Lisbon-Faro leg and drive again.

If I lived in Woking , I would join the common herd and fly from Gatwick with Easyjet or Monarch!...cant be worse than what you have experienced!

You can be sure that Mrs Scorpion wont let me near the TAP website again - to be fair we've used them a lot over the last 14 years and never had a problem until this year when they scrapped the direct flight.

We Surrey folk are fortunate...we are on the doorstep of Gatwick. Think of the poor so and sos who have to drive for 2 or 3 hours to even get to the airport!
