ants
Hi can anybody help me with regard to stopping ants coming in to the house. I have a major problem with them and the standard repellants or sprays or powders only seem to work for a short time. My friends with a house in Spain do not have this problem - is it only in the Algarve that they are so persistent? Has anyone got the final solution!
from past experience ..do not leave any food out...all food items box in seal proof containers, then try an ant powder and go around the house completely to form a "berlin wall" ..do not miss anywhere and pay extra attention to the windows and doors going around their frames completely top sides and bottom. there is a ant foam which modelos sell which has a fine straw nozzle ..found that very good and means you can spray around all the frames
make sure any rubbish is thrown away every day and put outside

Thank you for your replies. I do remove rubbish after every meal and keep everything in sealed boxes but I still end up with ant trails. Will try the sprays etc you mentioned. Has anybody tried the ultrasonic repellers such as pestclear 2000. The manufacturers claim excellent results but they are quite expensive and as I would have to buy a few, I would welcome feedback from anyone who has used them.
