Gravel pavement

Post by Sando »

I am planning to apply gravel to pave a large area of my property. The name is Brita. I would like some input of people that did this regarding:
1- applying a plastic lining under the brita (me thinks no)
2- Best grade for the brita for a very sandy soil.
3- Compacting with stone dust, yes or no?
4- If plastic is not applied will the brita sink in the sand?
5- Whos is doing this in the Lagos area?

Thank you very much

you can get brita from any good builder merchants...yes good idea to put black plastic underneath if you not walking on it...if its just the drive way then (my experience) the plastic will be puntured by the stones. only remedy is every so often instead apply roundup weedkiller

new shop de bora at portimao retail park was selling sprayers foe 12 euros and small sachet of roundup is 4 euros (enough for about 2000 sq metres)

only seen two grades here ..big and small ..in my view dont waste your time compacting
