Seeking advice on places to advertise

Hi Fellow owners
I used to advertise in a staff magazine but it hasn't brought many enquiries of late. I do need to try aaaalternatives. Looking around there seem to be lots of places to advertise -almost too much choice! I'd really value feedback from anyone prepared to share it on their experiences of effective places to advertise.
