Website advice wanted

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone to design a basic site for a rental property.

I would appreciate any clues on the of cost for design and maintenance.

You used to be able to make a living out of writing web pages. However, if you want something straightforward you can do it yourself. Easily and it won't cost you anything. Honestly. All you need is some semblance of design awareness.
If you want something more complicated, like a site that accepts credit cards or is driven by a database (displays available booking slots and updates automatically when weeks are booked. That is, way too complicated for one house) you may need a programmer to do it. Note that is a 'may'.
Of course if you are colour blind, or a complete muppet with a pc, or just don't have spare time, get someone in.

I did a basic one before in word. It wasn't to bad, but doesn't seem to upload properly anymore.

Can anyone recommend a software package for me.

Don't use word, it is just awful.
Get an account at www.1and1.co.uk and take a look at the web site building software. I think (not sure) that www.talkalgarve.com used it)

If you really want to o it yourself, Dreamweaver works well. Front Page works badly but does have lots of wizards to get you started. It is easy, however, to find web page templates on the Internet if you are having a design crisis.
I have a copy of Dreamweaver 3 from ebay, it works fine and does not have the massive complications they have seen to add to the current version.

I've just been in CVO for a few weeks, now back in uk and planning to choose software and get on with website in next couple of days.
