Can anybody suggest how I can get comprehensive car insurance cover for 4 months for my UK registered car in Portugal?

I have asked my UK insurer and they will only provide cover for up to 120 days per annum - in periods of 30 days.

Medal, my Portuguese insurance broker will only insure a car that has been through the matriculation process.

There are brokers out here that do 12 month green cards through an insurance company in Gibraltar. You can cancel after having it less than a year and get some sort of a refund but I don't know how much. My brokers do this if you'd like their info. I can send by pm/email.

Unless your over 50....Saga cover overseas for the full time..ie ..no limit of Green Card..........and you can cancel after a few months...buy Ditto...I dont know the refund rate...

Try the AA insurance services.

I have an AXA policy through them for using a UK registered car in Belgium and have a 12 month green card. It costs approx. double the amount of a normal UK policy.
