Hotels in Seville

I am thinking of taking a short break in Seville and just wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel with parking and easy access from the main routes?

How about going to Granada instead? Only 2.5 hours beyond Seville and so much more interesting.

Happy New Year to you all too. I would recommend the Hotel Saray usually a very good deal on Trivago and a short walk to the city centre. If they are driving book a room with parking but I would not bother paying for breakfast as you can get twice as much in many cafes for half!

Puerto del Carmen, Plaza del Carmen. One of the best and also great for steaks. Not to be missed!!

Mariscal (Deli and tapas bar) Great for lunch tapas, people watching through the glass wall between shop and tapas bar. Carrera de la Virgin next to El Corte Inglais department store.

Casa Colon, Next to the river on Calle Ribera del Genil. Great to sit outside late afternoon as the sun goes down looking at the snow covered Sierra Navada.

Kiosk Las Titas, In the park that runs along the river. As you cross the river going into the City from the Hotel Casa Colon is on the city side of the river and the park runs from the bridge to the right.

On Calle Angel Ganivet there is a great tapas bar called Pino Noir and also Tinto Fino. Pino Noir serve a great dry sparkling wine called Premier Bulle.

El Deseo. The wine list is by “mood”. You can have prawns cooked on the bar by the waiter ironing them!!! Plaza Romanilla near the Cathedral. Tell them to ask for the tapa “Tuna Falso” not tuna but pork in tuna mayonnaise – fantastic. This bar does not open until 8pm and looks nothing from the outside but is really great. They also do fantastic tempura squid. The Chef is a Spanish TV chef.

re Seville Hotel,

The Hotel Becquer is nice, & very well placed, as you cross the big last bridge from Portugal side you turn right on the loop road, under the short underpass, first left after you come up & the hotel is down on the left; there's a multi story car park 1 minute drive from the hotel, (left after the hotel, down the bottom of the road on the right, easy exit back onto the loop road & back to Portugal),
& it's easy walking down some nice alleyway style roads to the Cathedral Square with all the nice horses, The Cathedral & The Alcazar are must do's as is eating copious amounts of the divine Jamon Iberico, enjoy your trip.

If you want something different than the normal modern hotel then the LAS CASAS DE LA JUDERIA is a good choice and within walking distance of the sights.

'This former duke's residence consists of a labyrinth of Moorish-style houses and typical Spanish courtyards, interconnected by a grotto-style passage and set in central Seville's Santa Cruz district.'

Its easy to find on one of the main roads but the only downside is that parking is around the corner in an underground public car park.

Tis a lovely hotel and the food is good. Had a lunch there 6 yrs ago when on a day trip in a mini bus organised by Monte CVO, when they used to do such trips. A good cheap day out, apart form the lunch, that is.

Does the Granada Tourist Board have you on their payroll - you must qualify for citizenship by now

You introduced us to Granada and we found it a truly beautiful place - nicer than Seville - but it is a bit of a trek from Cvo. Nevertheless, they were wonderful weekends. Then there's the matter of the Tapas - as the man at the Co-op says "good for food" and it certainly was (I won't attempt the accent).
