Well - just tried to check in. Typed in details for outbound - then takes you to inbound. Won't let me check in for this as I don't want to purchase a seat. Request check in later for this and screen gets a grey covering and will not proceed any further, so cannot complete check in for outward journey. Tried going in to reprint boarding pass, but cannot as check in not completed.
Therefore unable to print out boarding pass. So looks like the only way to get my boarding pass is to pay for a seat on the return journey - what a scam!!! or a crap website!!
They must be desperate for business as 2 adverts just in one break last night - one to advertise their 2 bag policy. The other was to advertise their so called wonderful new easy to use website. Yes it is a much better website - but it's not working properly - so not much use then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not going to keep customers at this rate.

I begrudge paying any more, you can check in on line 7 days before flying (for yr return flight) so if you have good friends maybe they will let you use their comp and printer for boarding pass, thats what we are doing

Update on my attempt to print boarding pass under new system. I emailed customer services about the problem, not surprisingly did not hear anything. I have just gone back on and managed to get past inbound only to be told that one of my party had not checked in. As there is only me in the party it must refer to my not having checked in for my return flight. As it won't let me do this it just made me more annoyed. Did manage to print my boarding pass for outbound.
Problem of pass for return solved as a family member is joining me for last 6 days so will print mine & bring it with them.
I didn't use to have a problem with Ryanair, but they keep changing the website and the rules. I and others are getting fed up with them.
The website used to be basic, but worked well. It was easy to find info and cheap flights. Then they cut a lot of useful stuff and put in that stupid access coding - that must have lost them a lot of custom. This website looks nice, but they need to make sure it works properly.

It was a serious question, I wondered whether it was worth waiting til 7 days before. If we are sat at opposite ends of the plane I would ratyher pay for seating.

I had the same thoughts so this time even after all i have said in previous posts have now booked and paid the price for our return flights, i am hoping by the time we come out again in June that things would have changed again in the passengers favour for a change. We can live in hope i suppose.

My family flew out recently and were all allocated seats next to each other even though they booked 2 seats and then
2 days later booked another 2 seats so I am sure it works well.

I have checked in and paid now as the flights are for my two daughters who return before us after the Easter break and didn't want to risk them being seated separately.
We are using jet2 for our own flights this time but use Ryanair regularly as flight times and prices are usually good. I will risk it once but unsure if it will work in high season, but will give it a go!

We flew back on my birthday and hubby paid for Priority to get extra leg room seats. Flight was not full and the steward offered empty extra leg room seats to other passengers in nearby seats, but at least we got the extra leg room and 3 seats between 2 of us. He was also helping passengers put their bags in the overhead lockers. Is this new Ryanair customer service or a rogue employee?

Has anyone successfully used the inernet cafe to print boarding passes. We fly out with Ryanair on 2 June and have printed outbound the boarding passes but can't do so for return flight on 9 June (unless we do it before setting off for our 0630 flight on the 2nd). I'm sure I've used the internet cafe opposite the California pizza place in the past to print something. I know the answer is to book seats .......

Yes, I have used the internet Cafe many times to print boarding passes and it is brilliant & cheap.
They are very friendly & helpful there.

Thanks that reassuring - I have suggested that we book seats to save hassle but its a principle thing!

You probably know this but you can have all your details eg passport numbers, DOB's etc already entered on the system & just log back in just after midnight on the 2nd or before you leave at 06.30 to press the "check in now " & print you will then be pretty sure to be sitting together.
