Cabo Visao
Cabo Visao
Anybody have experience good / bad of this company ? Is their internet service better / comparable to PT Telecom who, by their own admission, can only provide 1mbps in Sesmarias due to poor copper cables & distance from server?
Re: Cabo Visao
We are not as far away as you. Being near monte santo but our Cabo visao is very average the broadband goes down occasionally but it's quite slow most if the time
Re: Cabo Visao
We are in Boavista upgraded to the Cabo 1 box system end of last year.
My wireless speed as I type is 54mps. Cable to the house.
We have done a test with a Hudl and can watch internet TV albeit quality is nowhere as good as the Cabo channels.

We are up on Vale Centeannes, and are getting about 3.5 Mhz on Cabao Visao.
We are fed by overhead copper cable, which is lossy.
The 3.5 Mhz is just about enough to run an Apple TV box.

I think you mean mbps or mps (megabits per second) and not Mhz (which is megahertz or sometimes large rental cars)Bruce Wallis wrote: getting about 3.5 Mhz on Cabao Visao.

In
I've signed up for the 1 box & 100mbps. If I only receive 3.5 mbps like Bruce I'll be really disappointed. All the copper cable between Lagoa & Sesmarias has been stolen by the scrap dealers hence we have a very poor PT internet signal. The Cabio Visao cable is underground & hopefully delivers the advertised speed as per EMM's experience.Bruce Wallis wrote:We are up on Vale Centeannes, and are getting about 3.5 Mhz on Cabao Visao.

Re: Cabo Visao
Installation happened on Thursday 3rd April. On wifi I now have download of 48mbps & Upload of 5 mbps.
The TV solution supplied by Projection Dreams is working perfectly so my UK TV needs are sorted.
The engineers arrived at 4pm & finished the job at 1245 am ! They did a very good job utilising all the existing cable conduits so the 125 metres of cable from the pavement to the TV points in the lounge & the apartment are invisible.
As yet I have no phone signal but they warned me that it takes a couple of days to transfer from PT keeping the same number.
Cabo Visao coupled with the Mag 250 IPTV box does exactly what they promise, very pleased I changed fromPT.
